Things You’ll Need:

  • Patience
  • Understanding
  • Love and comforting

Step 1

Different sippy cups It is very important that you get rid of the bottle before they get to attached to it because it will make the transition a lot smoother for them. The first thing to do is get them started on a sippy cup I did this around 6 months with all 5 of mine.

Step 2

Teeth Sippy cups do come in stages so if you follow the recommended stages the cup will grow with them. When they are first growing teeth the teeth are very fragile and soft so we need to protect them.

Step 3

Baby water When you are ready to start working on the bottle breaking, A good transition is to put what they like to drink the most in the sippy and something less desirable in the bottle Water is a good one most little ones prefer to have milk or juice.

Step 4

From this step it will be a lot easier for them as well as you. It will take a few days for them to adjust to this change. They say on average 3 days. But Don’t give in or you will be right back at day 1 over and over, Thus making a 3 day transition into a several month event.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stick to you’re guns don’t give in they need you to be the strong one.
  • Prepare them for this early.
