The box office hit Duplicity is now available to view on the internet. This March 2009 movie blends romantic comedy with spy-thriller elements. Directed by Tony Gilroy, this film stars the popular Julia Roberts and Clive Owen as competing corporate spies. The two have met before, when Roberts character seduced Owen’s in order to get some important information for her company. Now, these former rivals must put aside old differences and work together in order to pull off a very complicated con that will make both of them rich beyond their dreams. Of course, there is lots of humor as the professional cons try to decide how much they can trust each other.
Duplicity has a somewhat complicated story that challenges viewers with its ambiguous characters and multiple flashbacks sequences. It’s a film that will keep you guessing about just exactly who is conning who. Many critics called Duplicity entertaining, praising it for its clever dialogue and appealing lead stars. Roger Ebert gave the film three out of four stars.
The film has a running time of 125 minutes. It is rated PG13 and does have some profanity and sexual situations, as well as some brief violence. The film also stars Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti.
