True Food is The New Hot Spot to Eat Right

True Foods at Scottsdale Quarter is my new favorite place to eat. Yes, it’s the end of the year and while I haven’t officially started taking my New Year’s Resolutions seriously, eating at True Foods will help with the transition.

We’ve eaten there 3 times in 6 days. The staff recognized us on our third visit. We are fast becoming regulars.

Our first visit was on a Sunday afternoon when the Quarter was busy. It’s so nice to see the shopping center busy, considering there isn’t a lot there yet. Deegee’s Carma had just opened and had been spotlighted on the morning news show. It looked like a place to take my teenage daughter so down to the Quarter we went.

Unfortunately Deegee’s didn’t turn out to be my kids’ cup of tea. No worries. H&M is her favorite, and she prefers the store at the Quarter over the one at Fashion Square Mall. Lucky me. I prefer shopping in outdoor malls compared to indoor places like Fashion Square.

So after browsing Deegee’s and then hitting H&M and checking out the new Nike store that just opened, we stopped in for lunch. We’d missed the lunch crowd and were seated immediately. Good for us since we were hungry!

On our first trip we started off with the Miso Soup and the Hummus. The miso soup is probably the best I’ve had in a long time and the hummus was perfect with the fresh pita bread. My side kick had the turkey burger with the hash and was very happy with both. I had the Ahi Sliders with the sweet potato hash and kale salad. Perfect for lunch. Just enough to satisfy without being stuffed.

But my most favorite part of the meal was the Honey Lemonade. Awesome. Yes, it would be even better with Vodka, but we were there for lunch and still had places to go that didn’t include a nap!

On our second trip I had the Ahi Tacos with a side of beans. Again, both were perfect in quantity and quality. The beans were especially good. Again I had the honey lemonade sans vodka. My dining mates had another turkey burger and tried the Teriyaki plate with brown rice and chicken.

The third trip I had the Steak Tacos with a side of beans. Again with the beans! But I love them. It’s a tough choice though, the beans or the sweet potato hash. Next time I’ll get the hash, really. But the beans are so good!

Back to the tacos. What can I say? Perfect. Three small grilled corn tortillas with tender pieces of grilled steak and just the right amount of garnish that included avocados. And of course, more honey lemonade!

We will get in there to have dinner some time, and I will have my honey lemonade with vodka. And I will consider it a healthy drink, keeping me on the right track with my New Year’s Resolution!

I give True Foods a big thumbs up!
