The city of Jaipur in India is one of the most popular tourist destinations, not only in the country, but also of in the world. An overview of Jaipur is of great help because it educates one about the city as a whole and thus makes it easier for the travelers to identify the different landmarks of the city. Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan is one of the oldest cities of India. It was founded in the year 1727 by Raja Sawai Jai Singh the II, a warrior astronomer. The old part of the city is surrounded by a huge wall, which has a total of seven gates. This part is known as the ‘Pink City’, as all the buildings are painted pink in color, the lucky color of the Hindu’s.

St. Edmund’s School is located in the Pink City of Jaipur, the capital city of the state of Rajasthan. The school is established with a vision of providing quality education to students. It is an English medium school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). St. Edmund’s School is a co-educational school offering classes from Playgroup to Grade XII with Science and Commerce faculties. Though the school began as an Elementary School in a small campus by Mr. Ranbir Singh in 1975, the founder of the school, it is listed to be among the topmost schools of Jaipur. Academic excellence and innovation in education are the prime objectives of the school. The schools provide an excellent environment which fosters a spirit of enquiry and keen interest in each child.

 The academic program is built around the needs of the students.  Based on scores, grades, and school assessments, the students will be provided the instruction that will help them to succeed.  This might involve more instructional time, after school tutoring, learning center assistance, mentoring, academic clubs, and academic challenges.  The goal is to build an academic program that is both rigorous and motivating.

Education being the complete development of the individual requires equal response to academics as well as non-academic pursuits. In addition to the regular subjects students are also tested on dramatics, art, sculpture vocal music, instrumental music, calligraphy, yoga and physical education. There is a big swimming pool, playground and indoor games facilities.

St. Edmund’sin its constant efforts to be a school with a difference does not only stress on the academics but also the extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of the children. There are regular intra – class debate competitions held to encourage the students in public speaking which is evident in the no. of trophies won by our school in various competitions. The sports faculty plays a big role.
