Working Dogs

Modern dogs today are keeping as pets but there are still a tremendous number of ways in which dogs can and do assist humans.

Dog is a man’s best friend.


Akitacan be a very good worker. They lived and worked alone or in a pairs. Akita dogs are loyal and intelligent dogs. Akita gets bored easy but they are very good with youngsters from their own family.

Health issues: Akita dog with lifespan of about ten years. Cancer, cardiac, and gastrointestinal are most common causes of death of the dog.

Great Dane

Great Dane dog is one of the giant working dogs. They are strength, well-formed and powerful breed of dogs. Great Dane are gentle, loving animal and very needy they always needing someone.

Health issues: The common health issues of the dog are gastric dilatation-volvulus.


It has been declared also that the Komondor is one of Hungary’s national treasures. In 1544, Komondor was mentioned for the first time in Hungarian codex. The Komondor are affectionate with its family, gentle, very protective and they are good especially with other family pets.

Health issues: Hip dysplasia, and found out that the dog have two eye disorders. A parasite also is the problem of the dogs due to the dog’s heavy coat.


Mastiff is affectionate to its master. They are capable of protection to their breeders. Mastiff may take immediate defensive action.

Health Issues: The dog demanding correct diet and exercise. The health major problem of this breed includes; hip dysplasia and gastric torsion.


Newfoundlandis known as the gentle giant because of its calm nature and its strength. But the dog is prone to hip dysplasia and also elbow dysplasia. Newfoundland dog has a deep loud bark but they are easy to train especially if started young.

Health issues: The dog is prone to hip dysplasia, they can also get elbow dysplasia, and cystinuria. Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis is another genetic problem of the dog that can cause of the sudden death of Newfoundland dog.


Rottweiler uses their ability to intimidate. This breed of dog is eager to work and they react to their surroundings with great alertness. Rottweiler is good-natured, devoted, obedient, and biddable. They are self-confident and respond quietly.

Rottweiler with their health issues; hip dysplasia can be a problem of this dog.
