CONSIDER THE USES OF ADVERSITY!
These are a few points from Wendy Robbins’ book, “Why Marry A Millionaire? Just Be One!”
Consider the uses of adversity and maintain a positive attitude, keep your focus… and choose to succeed no matter what.
There are amazing lessons in “failure” – and there is no failure unless you give up.
Edison attempted to create a light bulb 10,000 times. He didn’t fail 9,999 times he said it was just a 10,000 step process. Have you ever tried to do anything 10,000 times? Would you quit?
You fell down many times before you learned to walk.
Babe Ruth struck out 1330 times, and hit 714 home runs.
Disney went bankrupt 6 times before he created Disneyland.
Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.
Einstein didn’t speak till he was 4 years old and didn’t read till he was 7. His teachers said he was “mentally slow, and adrift forever in his foolish dreams.”
When Bell created the phone – people said “That’s amazing, but who would ever want to use one of them.”
Beethoven became deaf and wrote 5 world renowned symphonies during that time.
My mom tried to feed me meatloaf a few times a week. I ended up becoming a vegetarian.
There are endless examples. Any one of them could have quit at any time. They didn’t. There is a famous story in Think and Grow rich about some miners that stopped just 3 feet short of the biggest gold vein ever found.
What are you stopping just short of?
Do you have a story going on inside that says you are a failure, or you might fail? If so, remember what all the people we just talked about and know they went on to become huge icons, mentors to us all.
They didn’t stop because they had a burning desire to succeed. Sometimes it pays off to be too stupid to pay attention to “failure.”
We all love a great underdog story, a rags to riches tale and we all have a movie inside of us – what is your story?
Every movie has a character who against all odds succeeds. Your story is what you say it is. Failure is the only option if you quit. If you keep with your dream, even if many years pass and even if you’ve been rejected over 1000 times, keep with the vision, tweak to see what is working and you can manifest anything.
Hey I’m blonde and taking classes in cooking – if I can do that, you can do anything!
Q: How can you tell if a blonde is a good cook?
A: She gets the pop tart out of the toaster in one piece.
Q: What do you call a blonde at a University?
A: A visitor.
“I’m not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I’m not dumb…and I also know that I’m not blonde.”
– Dolly Parton
It’s not that I’m dumb it’s that I like things to be easy. Give me a checklist and I’ll follow it. Write down the action steps and I’ll take them. How about you? Create your action to do list, and implement immediately.
1. Create the action to do list.
2. Act on it immediately.
3. Know that when you take chances there are times where you won’t get the result you are looking for immediately.
