The Devine Affair is a little Italian restaurant tucked in the Memorial area and it is a very laid back, relaxing, quiet place to oppose the fast paced life in Houston. The décor is adorable with sofas and chairs in a “living room” feel and the dining tables have layered linens and the lighting is soft so you can fully relax while eating, and it is great for a quaint romantic evening.
The venue is located at 14021 Memorial Dr between White King Lane and N. Kirkwood Road and their hours of operations are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. to 9:30 and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and their remain closed on Sunday.
For their appetizers you can order the spicy calamari with a marinara sauce, or their popular cheese focaccia bread which has fontina and mozzarella cheese and roasted tomato olive oil, or even the meatball plate with marinara sauce each for $9. And if you wish to have something lighter like a soup go with the traditional minestrone soup which come with an array of vegetables, white beans and pasta, or the Tuscan tomato soup which is topped with a swirl of créme frâiche for $5.
For their pasta entrées go with the pappardelle Bolognese which are wide ribbon pasta served with a tomato and Italian sausage, ground beef and pancetta, or the classic lasagna, or even the rigatoni “Devine” which come with sautéed Italian sausage, red bell peppers and goat cheese and fresh basil for $15.
While for their second entrées go with the snapper Beatrice which come pan seared and sautéed in garlic and tomatoes and served with penne pasta and vegetables for $23, or the chicken picatta which comes sautéed in white wine, lemon butter caper sauce served with vegetables for $17, or even the filet mignon which is seasoned beef tenderloin served with pappardelle with mushrooms in a garlic butter and asparagus spears for $28.
The prices are average for an Italian restaurant some food items are lower and some higher so they get a B-. The service is great; the wait staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the food, the wine and the restaurant so they get an A-. While for one of the most important things which is the food, they get a solid B; the food is good not too exceptional but better than average so they get a B.
