While the network marketing industry can be a very lucrative business, it is more than likely that you are struggling with an issue that affects so many marketers: you’re having trouble generating enough leads to get your business up and running profitably! Well, we’ve all been there (even people like Mike Dillard ;)) and it can be extremely frustrating. You are well aware of the incredible opportunity you are offering, but you just can’t seem to generate the proper attention, if any at all.
In my experience, there are three “secrets” to MLM lead generation. I don’t even like to use the word secret, because I feel it gets way overused, but I’m going to make an exception here. The following concepts are essential to network marketing lead generation, so listen carefully!
Become A Leader
Let me say that one more time. Become a leader. Nobody wants to follow a follower. People naturally want to follow leaders, so if you’re not one yet, it’s high time you become one…and quickly! This has nothing to do with the number of sales you have, or how much money you make. This is about working on yourself and making yourself more valuable to others. It’s about teaching and helping your prospects and your team.
It is so key that we work on ourselves as much, if not more, as we work on our business. We must take responsibilty for our own personal development because it is critically important to our success. The reality is that nothing is stopping us but us!
Let’s be real here. No one gives a flying you know what about how much money you’ve made or are currently making. What your prospects care about is how you can help them reach their goals and have success. It is so crucial that we are always providing value to our prospects. This is one of my favorite quotes:
“We must give without want before we can receive.”
I think that just about sums it up. Don’t overlook this because it is critical to successful MLM lead generation. It’s essential that we are always giving to our prospects and teaching them. It’s okay to sell, but I would say 80-90% of the time we should be providing value and the other 10-20% of the time it’s okay to sell.
Don’t Come Across As Needy (Actually, Don’t BE Needy)
No one wants to join someone who is needy, they want to join someone who is abundant and confident. Remember, we have the opportunity that will change their lives and not the other way around, so there is no reason to feel needy. Value your time and don’t waste it by chasing people down to join your business.
You should be professional and follow up with your prospects, but don’t start chasing them down! There are prospects everywhere, so have an attitude of abundance and you will be greatly rewarded!
There are a great deal of different factors surrounding MLM lead generation, but these three basic secrets are a good start. These three concepts will be the foundation upon which you will build, so that you can generate good quality leads for your MLM business. From there, the sky’s the limit! You will be generating MLM business leads all day long!
