I am a huge ice cream lover. I recently purchased a box of Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Caramel all natural Sundae Cones from my local Shoprite supermarket and decided to review my experience with this product. To be perfectly honest, these ice cream cones are nothing special. They taste nothing like the ice cream that you could buy at an ice cream cart on the street and the quality could not possibly be compared to such ice cream shops as Baskin Robbins.
These cones taste a bit creamy and are very small in size. I guess if you want a low calorie snack you should consider purchasing this ice cream. Each cone is worth one hundred seventy calories. I guess the caloric value is not as small as eating fruit, however, it is better than eating a bag of chips in my opinion. This product contains three grams of protein, four percent of vitamin A and six percent of calcium. It is not entirely unhealthy. Although yogurt could probably save you more calories. Have you tried the yogurt from McDonalds? It is one of the closest substitutes for ice cream. Also the yogurt from Red Mango tastes wonderful. I believe it contains even less calories than the yogurt from McDonalds. It is served with real fruit too. Other toppings are available.
The Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Caramel cones are filled with chocolate. The almonds on top of the cone are soft and mushy, the caramel tastes fine, and the cone is nice and crunchy. The snack is satisfying overall. However, Haagen-Dazs offers better tasting ice cream varieties. If you choose to purchase this brand of ice cream, I recommend anything that comes on a stick. Try their coffee ice cream covered in chocolate and almonds. It tastes great and also comes in small servings. One package contains five ice cream cones. If you plan to consume these treats in the comfort of your own home, use a plate. This product is quick to crumble after the first bite.
Did you know that Haagen-Dazs created a website called http://www.helpthehoneybees.com? Their Vanilla Honey Bee ice cream was created to celebrate the bees that are responsible for most of their natural ingredients. The Vanilla Honey Bee ice cream is a combination of vanilla from Madagascar and delicious honey from North and South Dakota clover fields. Every time you purchase a Haagen-Dazs ice cream, you are helping this company fund the research to save the bees!
