Homemade Citrus Hand Sanitizer

When flu and cold season come around we are all looking for some hand sanitizer to help keep our hands clean and germ free. I know I do, but I do not always like using the drugstores hand sanitizer brands so I make my own homemade citrus hand sanitizer at home using very basic ingredients.

The ingredients you will need to make my homemade citrus hand sanitizer are 1 cup of aloe Vera gel, ½ a cup of vitamin E cream, 5 drops of almond oil, 5 drops of grape seed oil, 3 drops of tea tree oil, 3 drops of geranium oil, 10 drops of orange oil, and 3 teaspoons of rubbing alcohol. If you do not have these ingredients on hand you can find them at your local herbal store and drugstore. You can also just take any unused body or hand lotion and pour a couple teaspoons of rubbing alcohol, 5 drops of tea tree oil, and a couple tablespoons of aloe Vera to it and you will have a simple fast and easy hand sanitizer.

The materials you will need to make this homemade citrus hand sanitizer are 1 small mixing bowl and spoon, measuring cups, measuring spoons, and 1 pumping bottle. You should have these materials on hand but if you do not you should be able to find them at your local dollar store, kitchen store, or grocery store.

Anyways back to making my homemade citrus hand sanitizer, and the way you make it is by pouring the are1 cup of aloe Vera gel, ½ a cup of vitamin E cream, 5 drops of almond oil, 5 drops of grape seed oil, 3 drops of tea tree oil, 3 drops of geranium oil, 10 drops of orange oil, and 3 teaspoons of rubbing alcohol into a small mixing bowl and combining all these ingredients together with a spoon or whisk to form a creamy whitish gel like hand sanitizer that has a nice orange citrus scent to it. The reason I use these ingredients to make my homemade citrus hand sanitizer is because they have the ability to kill germs and harmful bacteria that can make us sick. I also use these ingredients because they also help keep your hands nicely moisturized and soft as well, which is what most of us are looking for when we go and use a moisturizing hand sanitizer.

Now once you have made my homemade citrus hand sanitizer all you need to do is pour it into an empty pump bottle and place it in your bathroom, kitchen, office, classroom, or wherever it is you think it will be used the most. I know I personally like to leave my hand sanitizer in my handbag so when I am out traveling I can simply pull it out of my bag to clean and sanitize my hands when I do not have any soap and water around to clean my hands with.

I hope those of you who make my homemade citrus hand sanitizer have an easy time making it, and I hope it helps keep your hands clean and germ free so you can prevent yourself from catching a cold or the flu. I wish you all the best of luck with stay healthily and happy.
