Health Benefits Of Taking Kelp Supplements

When we think of kelp we think of the ocean, but kelp that comes from the ocean is dried out and used as an herbal remedy for treating many health conditions. Kelp actually contains several minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants that help the body heal properly when it is suffering from an infection, illness, and even cancer.

Kelp supplements come in the form of tablets, liquid, capsules, and teas. It can even be eaten raw or in dried form with a meal or alone. I prefer the capsules because they are the easiest to take because the tablets I can’t swallow, the tea is salty, and eating raw or dried seaweed doesn’t seem tasty to me. You can usually find kelp supplements at local herbal stores and sometimes even grocery stores.

Kelp has many health benefits because it contains loads of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential to the body when it is trying to heal from an infections, illness, or cancer. The vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in kelp are iodine, manganese, zinc, calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamin K, lignans, phytonutrients, and foliate. These nutrients help treat and prevent thyroid problems and keep your metabolism under control by correcting the mineral balance in the body. These nutrients also help cleanse wounds inside and outside the body, normalize body temperature, prevent headaches, heal skin problems, relieve aches and pains, rid the body from fatigue, correct hormonal imbalance, slow down the growth of tumors, heal anal problems, and prevents osteoporosis, heart disease, and aging.  The list of health benefits that come from taking kelp supplements goes on and on.

Kelp supplements are fairly safe to take, but does have some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and could harm the thyroid if you take too much of it. You should talk to your doctor first to make sure kelp supplements are right for you too take to help with your health problem. If it is, do not take it. If it is ask your doctor how much kelp would be the proper amount for you’re to take because everybody’s body is different and requires different amounts of it. I know I take 2 kelp capsules a day and know more than that unless I am sick. Then I increase the supplements to 3 a day. I always take the supplements with a meal because I get nauseas if I do not.

So, for those of you who try kelp supplements I hope you receive the health benefits you are looking for from taking them. I know I took them to prevent migraine headaches and to heal a wound and they helped me out a lot. I personally would recommend them as a daily supplement to keep the body healthy, but like I said talk with your doctor before taking kelp supplements or any kind of supplements.
