My all time favorite own lip balm recipe to make is my homemade cinnamon lip balm. It smells and taste just like cinnamon and helps soothe and moisturize my lips right up. Best of all it makes an excellent holiday stocking stuffer for Christmas.
The natural ingredients needed to make the cinnamon lip balm are 1 tablespoon of beeswax, 1 teaspoon of Shea butter, 1 teaspoon of cocoa cutter, ¼ teaspoon of vitamin E oil, ¼ teaspoon of jojoba oil, and 5 drops cinnamon oil. These ingredients should be all natural for them to work effectively and properly. The ingredients can be found at your local grocery store or herbal store. Sometimes whole food and organic stores carry them as well.
The way I make this very simple cinnamon lip balm is by placing the 1 tablespoon of beeswax, 1 teaspoon of Shea butter, 1 teaspoon of cocoa cutter, ¼ teaspoon of vitamin E oil, ¼ teaspoon of jojoba oil, and 5 drops cinnamon oil into a small glass microwaveable bowl. Then a microwave the ingredients for 1 minute or until the ingredients are melted together. After I remove the melted ingredients from the microwave and give them a good stir with a spoon. Then I pour the cinnamon lip balm which is in liquid form at the moment and pour it directly into a lip balm jar and place it into the freezer for 10 minutes to harden. Once the cinnamon lip balm is hardened it can be removed from the freezer and used as a regular lip balm is to help moisturize, protect, and soften lips up. I like it because it adds shine and a nice taste of cinnamon flavor to my lips.
The way I find easiest to put the cinnamon lip balm on is by taking a cotton swab and dipping it right into the lip balm until it is coated. Then I simply rub the lip balm all over my lips in a nice even layer until my lips are evenly coated with it. You can use this homemade cinnamon lip balm as often as needed and even take it wear ever you go. Just make sure you do not leave it in the sunshine or it will melt down into a liquid again and you will have to place it back into the freezer to harden again.
Now if you want to make the homemade cinnamon lip balm and give it as a give I recommend placing it into a fancy lip balm jar and topping it with a bow. Sometimes it is even fun to wrap it up and toss it in someone’s stocking as a stocking stuffer. Lots of females love this gift, but just make sure your female friend isn’t allergic to any of the ingredients in this homemade lip balm before giving it too her.
So there you have it! A wonderful homemade cinnamon lip balm to use whenever you please to keep your lips soft and beautiful or to give as a gift. I wish you all the very best this holiday season.
