This review is for the product Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream which I first tried a few years ago.
In my lifetime, I have always loved chocolate. Some might call me a chocolate addict or a a chocolate junkie. My love for chocolate continues to this day, but I am now much more finicky about the flavor and quality of the chocolate, whether it is a basic chocolate bar or a product that uses chocolate as an ingredient. I prefer more variety in my devouring of chocolate nowadays, such as eating a white cake with chocolate frosting or a chocolate cake with vanilla icing instead of everything being chocolate as it used to be. Still, anything that is chocolate is worth a shot.
Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream combines chocolate ice cream with fudge brownies. Now I adore fudge brownies. They are one of my all time favorite chocolate delights. This joining of two chocolates makes for a decadent treat. The most positive thing I can say about it is that the two tastes blend very well together and the combination ends up being a unique treat. I love the texture of these two foods together.
However, like I said above about my changing taste, the combination is almost too much of a good thing. It’s chocolate on top of chocolate and that means that after a couple of bites, I’m about chocolated out. It’s just a bit much. I guess that makes it healthier in an odd sort of way because when I do consume this ice cream, I eat very small portions.
Though Ben & Jerry’s has been in business for many years, I’m a newer user. This product was one of the first that I tried, in fact. The brand is a premium ice cream that specializes in different blends and tastes. I’ve had some that I’m not so fond of, but this one is a clear winner.
That said, while the chocolate is tasty, it’s not near as rich and luscious as other premium ice creams that I have enjoyed the past.
