Raley’s To Go Rising Crust 3 Meat Pizza is one of the newest products in this ‘To Go’ line of products. Essentially a store brand item for the Raley’s grocery store chain, I was pleasantly surprised by this product.
I’m going to start with the packaging first because in this day and age the way a product is brought to market is just about as important as the product itself. In my opinion, Raley’s is using a box that is slightly too big. I’ve been buying the 26 ounce size and I believe the square box could be reduced by up to two inches all around. In addition, I wish the box was not as deep. It would be easier to store that way.
The box is a little flimsy, but inside, the pizza is on a solid piece of cardboard and wrapped tightly in plastic. That’s actually why the box could be smaller.
The 26 ounce is perfect for an individual, couple, or small family that doesn’t want more than a couple of pieces each. It’s great for me, and since I love to use my Pizzazz Plus pizza cooker, this just barely fits on the plate.
This 3 Meat pizza is a rising crust item. It’s topped with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and beef crumbles. Now to be honest, I don’t really taste the beef crumbles, but there is plenty of pepperoni and sausage, which are my favorite toppings anyway.
The pepperoni has been terrific, and I have no complaints about it at all. The sausage is okay, but I admit to being disappointed a little with it. Perhaps it’s not the quality that I tend to get with actual pizza places. It’s just average, on par with what you get with frozen pizzas, though I’ve had some that are better.
The cheese is absolutely yummy. I’ve really liked it as the base for this 3 Meat pizza the times that I have purchased it.
One of the big purchasing points of this is that it’s cheaper than other products. Though not perfect, the taste overall is quite good, and I plan to continue buying it.
