Printer is one of the important hardware that almost computers user need both in offices and personal use. There are many brands and models of printers in the market nowadays both in inkjet printers and laser printers.  As time passed printer prices went down in the market, printer manufacturing companies reduce prices of their products so that in can compete to their competitor prices.

Printer installation is not a difficult task. It is a simple installation of hardware. You will not to be an expert in computer to install a printer in your computer.

There are two types of printer installations, adding printer attach in your computer and adding a printer in a network or printer attach to another computer within a local area connection.

There are some things that you will consider before printer installation;

Before you plug your printer maker sure if it was 110V or 220V pover input. Do not plug 110V printer in a 220V power source. You will need a Voltage regulator with 110V for it.

  • Prepare things that you will need before installation such as Installation CD, if you have no installation CD download the drivers of the printer in their manufacturer respective website.

  • Prepare the cables Printer Power cable and USB cable to be attach from your printer to computer.

How to Install a Local printer attaches in your computer automatically:

  • Attach your printer in your computer and Turn it On.

  • A Window will now appear that a New Hardware was detected.

  • Click next and browse the driver, click Next.

  • Wait for the wizard finish installing.

  • Select any of the options in “ Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?” click Next

  • Click Finish

  • You can now use your printer

How to Install a Local printer attaches in your computer manually:

  • Attach your printer in your computer and Turn it On.

  • Go to Control Panel

  • Select printer and Faxes

  • On printer Task in Left Pane, select add Printer

  • A Add Printer wizard will now Open, click Next

  • Select the Option “ Local printer attach to this computer

Check the checkbox detect and install my Plug and Play printer

Click Next

  • Browse the driver and install

  • Wait until Wizard finish installing.

  • Select any of the options in “ Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?” click Next

  • Click Finish

Adding a Network printer, or a printer attach to another computer with in your local area connection

  • Attach your printer in your computer and Turn it On.

  • Go to Control Panel

  • Select printer and Faxes

  • On printer Task in Left Pane, select add Printer

  • Select the Option “ A Network printer, or a printer attach to another computer”

  • Click Next

  • Select Browse Printer

  • Browse the printer with installed in another computer. Click Next

  • Click “Yes” in connect a printer to confirm.

  • Select any of the options in “ Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?” click Next

  • Click Finish
