Narain replaces Prithviraj
After two years, Narain has decided to come back to Malayalam films!
He has replaced Prithviraj in PT Kunjumuhammed’s Veeraputran.
The film chronicles the life and times of freedom fighter Mohanmmad Abdul Rehman Sahib, the legendary historic leader from Malabar.
The film is set in the pre-independence era between 1915 and 1945 in Malabar area of the then Madras Presidency.
Narain has finally taken a good decision to concentrate on Malayalam films, and do powerful roles with great filmmakers like PT Kunjumuhammed.
His heroine in the film is the Bollywood actress Raima Sen.
Says Narain: “It is an honour to do the role of the legendary Mohammad Abdul Rahman Sahib and to be directed by PT Kunjumuhammed”.
Actor Naren, who was not getting too many films in Mollywood till recently, is a happy man these days.
It was a blessing in disguise for him when actor Prithviraj decided to walk out the upcoming film Veeraputhran, and after Prithvi’s rejection the role straight away came to Naren.
According to reports, now that Naren is replacing Prithvi in Veeraputhran, it will be a big opportunity for him to make a come back in Mollywood. Naren was last seen in a cameo in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Jayram starrer Bhagyadevatha opposite to Kaniha.
According to the sources, the film is a story of is inspired from the historical biography of P.T.Kunjahammed, narrating the tale of Abdul Rehman Saheb, a well-known freedom fighter and social figure in Kerala. Naren, will play the lead role of Abdul Rehman and will be seen enacting one of the most significant characters of his career in this film industry.
Prithviraj, who was initially cast as the lead was said to have some problems in the set, after which he walked out of the project.
However, Naren after the box-office success of Classmates was getting many roles in Tollywood, but wasn’t getting too many opportunities in Malaylam film industry. Now, the cute dimpled actor Naren is ready to grab the offer and prove a point with Veeraputhran.
Apparently, for the first time in his career, young Malayalam-Tamil superstar pritviraj will play the role of an underworld don named Teja in his forthcoming comedy film Teja Bhai And Family, being directed by Dipu Karunakaran.
Notably, the actor has donned the role of a rowdy in his early films like Stop Violence and Thanthonni. Produced by Shantha Murali under the banner of Anatha Vision, Teja Bhai And Family is about a don who wants to change himself by following typical family values.
The film has commenced shooting in Kuthira Malika, Thiruvananthapuram on March 23. Currently, the film is progressing in Thiruvananthapuram. After this schedule, the maker will shoot songs and some important sequences in Malaysia. Akhila Sasidharan is the heroine. The movie is expected to reach theatres by July.
