Tony Mandola’s Miracle Location is a restaurant that serves Gulf Coast food which is very seafood centric; however there is more to the cuisine than just seafood. The venue is rather big and the décor is simple with colorful artwork on the walls and the tables are also plain with crisp white linen and wooden chairs.
The restaurant is located at 2810 Westheimer Road in the West University area and their hours of operations are from Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
For their appetizers you can go with the cold one like ceviche which comes with snapper and shrimp, vegetables and lime juice or the crab balls which are marinated in citrus and spices for $7.99; or try their hot ones such as the fried green tomatoes which come with boiled shrimp and a spicy sauce for $9.99, or the shrimp stuffed jalapenos with cheese for $11.99.
For their seafood section go with the Tomas Gulf red snapper which is topped with crabmeat and pico de gallo for $32.99, or the shrimp Larry which are beer battered for $25.99, or the fried special which consists of five oysters and five shrimp breaded with seasonal cornmeal for $21.99, or even the champagne sea bass which comes grilled and topped with jumbo shrimp in a champagne citrus butter sauce for $33.99. While for some of their pastas go with the linguine primavera which are simply tossed in garlic and olive oil and fresh vegetables for $12.99 or the spaghetti meatballs for $11.99 or the crawfish ravioli for $15.99.
However do not miss out on dessert and go with the New Orleans style bread pudding which has cinnamon, apples and raisins fro $5.50 or even the lemon crepes which come filled with lemon cream cheese and topped with a raspberry sauce for $6.50, or even the banana key lime pie which comes with fresh banana slices on a graham crust for $5.99.
The prices get a C- because they are a little on the high however the food gets a B+ because it is quite tasty and the fish dishes are never dry, and their desserts are too die for, and as far as the service it gets a B as the wait staff is very friendly therefore they get a solid B.
