Character Traits, Highly Successful People, Belief

In the previous entry, we began the discussion about the character traits of all highly successful people. The first trait we discussed is passion. This article will discuss the second trait of seven in this series – Belief.

People who succeed on a major scale have vastly different beliefs than those who fail. Anthony Robbins said, “Our beliefs about what we are and what we can be determine what we will be.” I think he hit the proverbial nail on the head.

If we believe that all things are possible, our lives will be full of miracles. However, if we believe that our life is limited, surrounded by barriers, then we make those limits real. We actually give them power over us.

What we believe to be true and possible becomes what is true and possible – that becomes our reality.

In the previous article about passion in this series, we discussed how vital this trait is in becoming successful in life’s worthwhile endeavors. But, many people are very passionate about a lot of things. Unfortunately, because of their limiting beliefs about themselves and what they can accomplish, they never take actions that could make their dreams a reality. Their passions are never lived out, and this breaks my

People who succeed know what they want, are passionate about it, and they believe they can have it. They believe in themselves, and their passions so much that they take the actions necessary to make it happen.

Passion and belief help propel us toward success, and excellence. But they are not enough. They will not bring success in and of themselves. To have success, we must have more – we need a path, or a track on which to run.

That will be the topic of the next article, but until then I will leave you with some powerful thoughts about belief:

“One life is all we have & we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.” -Joan of Arc

“If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” -Mahatma Gandhi

“If you believe you can, you probably can. If you believe you won’t, you most assuredly won’t. Belief is the ignition switch that gets you off the launching pad.” -Dennis Waitley

“Miracles happen to those who believe in them.” -Bernard Berenson

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” -Jesus Christ
