Ten Ways to Be Happy

  1. Eat fruits and vegetables.  Eating fruits and vegetables can be fun and they will make your body happier.  This will lead to your happiness.

  2. Smile and laugh more.  It is hard not to be happy when you are smiling or laughing.  Try to smile and laugh more.

  3. Look at the sky and trees.  Observe nature around you and in particular, the sky.  Don’t forget how majestic it looks.

  4. Don’t take yourself too seriously.  If you think of all aspects of your life in a serious manner then you will forget to be happy.

  5. Remember that life is about experiences.  Some of the experience are negative and some are positive.  Focus on the negative experiences as opportunities to learn and experience something new rather than just the way you felt when you were going through them.

  6. Avoid envy.  You never know how happy the person that you are envious of really is.  The rich man around the corner might actually be distraught.  They might come down with a debilitating disease or something worse in the coming years.  Envy is a waste of time.  Unless you have walked in their shoes, you don’t know how they feel.

  7. Be yourself.  It is hard to be happy when you are pretending to be someone who you aren’t.  Become comfortable with yourself and see yourself as a blessing and unique.

  8. Be thankful.  Be thankful for the things you have instead of concentrating on the things you don’t have.  Remember there is always someone who has it worse.  Be thankful for the little things like running water and a bed and it will be easier to be happy.

  9. Make other people laugh.  Try to learn a new joke or crack one at the spur of the moment.  It is hard not to be happy when you are making other people laugh.

  10. Avoid hatred.  The more you can avoid hatred and forgive other people, the freer and happier you will be.
