Tooth should be prevented from falling out from its place, if necessary, the holed one should be patched in order to be closed anymore. But we sometimes cannot hold out with the pain, so that we are voluntarily to be toothless (asking the dentist to lift it).
Toothache is caused by the diminishing tooth email layer leading the tooth to be sensitive to the change of food and beverage temperature that is not consistent with body temperature. Toothache occurs constantly or only felt sore and painful during drinking or eating something sensitive, like very cold, hot or very sweet. Toothache can also occur because the presence of hole on the tooth, so that the tooth nerve becomes damaged, thereby resulting in ongoing pain.
Toothache is very annoying even we can feel dizzy and feverish. In order to reduce such anguish, and to prevent recurrence, you can try the traditional prescription from our ancestor.
Ingredients and preparing instruction:
2 once of ginger, wash it cleanly, then peel off the skin
The peeled off ginger is then rewashed, and then grind/blend it.
The blended ginger is then extracted to provide a small cup of ginger water.
The ginger water is then filtered using very fine filter. The filter can be from the fine pored-clean cloth.
Firstly: Put the ginger water that has been filtered without its dregs into the ear on the side of which your teeth are felt painful. After it fills fully the ear, release it.
Secondly: Put the ginger water that has been filtered without its dregs into another ear on the side of which your teeth are not felt painful. After it fills fully the ear, release it (just like the first use)
Putting the ginger solution is like putting fresh water into the ear when we want to release water inside it when some water accidentally enter our ear during swimming. It sometimes sounds cres…ces…ces. Wash your cheek immediately because the ginger water drop will be felt warm. The ear lobe exposed to ginger solution does not need to be cleaned because it will only be felt warm. Do the treatment only one time.
A GLANCE ABOUT GINGER
Ginger is spice widely used by the people throughout the world. This plant, in addition to be used as the cooking spices, is also efficacious as the medicine. The typical characteristic of ginger lies in its sharp aroma and taste. The aroma of ginger results from the presence of volatile oil particularly the sesquiterpenoid type at more than 3% level. Meanwhile its hot taste results from the gingerol and shogaol compounds. In Indonesia, ginger is blended into a body-warming beverage called wedang jahe. This beverage is useful to expel the cold particularly for those who live in mountains area.
Zingiberis officinale, the Latin name of ginger plant, is the plant growing uprightly and clumping with 30 cm- 1 m height. Ginger is usually planted in low to high land (subtropical and tropical area) at 1500 m altitude. According to Farmakope Dutch, Zingiber rhizome constituting the tuber of Zingiber officinale contains 6% medicinal material frequently used as the medicine formula or as official medicine in 23 countries. According to the WHO’s priority list, ginger is the most frequently used medicinal plant in the world.
There are three types of ginger popular in the marketplace: elephant, yellow and red gingers. Elephant ginger is the most preferred ginger in international market. Its shape is fat and its taste is not too hot. The rhizome flesh is yellow-to-white. The yellow ginger is the one widely used as the cooking spice, particularly for local consumption. Its aroma and taste is sufficiently sharp. The rhizome is medium in size and yellow. The red ginger is the one frequently used as the basic material of herb because of its high volatile oil content and hottest taste. The rhizome is small and red with the fiber larger than that of ordinary one.
Empirically, ginger is found potentially stimulating the digestion gland so that it stimulates the appetite. Ginger oil containing gingerol potentially prevents and cures nausea and vomit. The fresh ginger that is ground finely can also be used as external medicine to cure the pain in the stomach. Several benefits of ginger have also been proven scientifically through the laboratory research. Gingerol in the ginger is anti-coagulant in nature, that is, to prevent blood clotting. So, it can prevent the blood vessel obstruction, the main cause of stroke and heart attack. Ginger can prevent nausea through serotonin blockade process, the chemical compound resulting in contracting stomach, so that the nausea occurs.
In addition, ginger is, in fact, useful as antibacterial agent. Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis, two pathogenic bacteria in human gastrointestinal tract can be obstructed for its colony growth by the ginger extract. Ginger extract, however, more actively obstructs the B. subtilis bacteria colony than it does in E. coli bacteria. E. coli bacteria can result in gastroenteritis in human, while B. subtilis can result in damage in the canned food that can also result in gastroenteritis in the human consuming it.
Other type of pathogenic bacteria the growth of which can be obstructed is the tuberculosis-causing bacteria, periodontal bacteria resulting in periodontitis, and the bacteria invading the respiratory tract. The ethanol extract of red ginger rhizome shows anti-tuberculosis activity against H37Rv, Labkes-232, and Labkes-450 strains of M. tuberculosis in week 2, 2, and 3, respectively. Using certain method in antibacterial filtering test, we can found when the obstruction activity of bacterial colony growth occurs. The extract of ginger rhizome can inhibit the growth of gram positive and gram negative bacteria like the one invading respiratory tract, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. - gingerol and - gingerol, the compounds successfully isolated from the ginger rhizome, show the strong antibacterial activity in vitro against the anaerobic bacteria resulting in periodontitis in human mouth cavity.
From one ginger plant, the Almighty God provides a variety of benefits for human health. It is up to our attempt in utilizing it now and it is the author’s task to explore constantly the benefit and development of it in order to achieve the optimum result. Moreover this toothache treatment method has been done by our ancestor thousands years ago.
