Leptospira that enters the body through the skin or membranes will multiply in the blood and tissues. After successful breeding, there will be leptospiremia process (buildup of bacteria leptospira in the blood and spread to various organs, especially kidneys and liver).

How that can be done to ensure that patients suffering from leptospirosis include:
1. General clinical laboratory examinations
General clinical laboratory examination results differ between mild and severe leptospirosis.
a) The results of examination of peripheral blood in patients with mild leptospirosis showed an increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, leukocyte count normal or slightly increased.
b) The results of liver function tests in patients with mild leptospirosis showed a slight increase in aminotransferase, bilirubin, and alkalinphospatase.
c) The assessment of kidney function tests in patients with severe leptospirosis will show renal dysfunction characterized by increased plasma creatinine levels.
d) The result of liver function tests in patients with severe leptospirosis will show elevated levels of blood bilirubin and alkaline phospatase
