Human babies are the creation of God which is sent to the Earth through females who have undergo puberty. Babies, who are going to shape the future of our world, are going to be the leaders of our nation and the world. According to the population clock which is set up in the Department of Statistic Malaysia website, a baby is born in Malaysia every 58 seconds. They are the asset of our nation who is going to bring our nation to fame and glory in the near future. In spite of this, some heartless parents tend to abandon their babies at the rubbish sites, river banks, mosques and street sides. If this uncivilized action is not curbed, our nation will be in havoc. In the meantime, we must identify the factors which are leading to the growing number of abandoned babies and find ways to curb with it.
Teenage pregnancy is the major factor that leads to the unwelcomed situation. Teenager is a person who is in the age group of 13 to 19. They are in puberty and this is the time their bodies are undergoing changes. Hormones such as Testosterone and Prolactin are released and teenagers will undergo changes physically as well as mentally. They tend to be curious to the opposite sex and this leads to underage sexual activities which often resulted in pregnancy. By the time this situation occurs, they would be anxious as they are not prepared physically, mentally nor financially. They are not ready to be called father or mother and they think that they are incapable of taking care of the young infant, thus this ended up as a tragedy. A baby is abandoned.
Besides, miscommunication between the father and the mother are also leading to the happening of this problem. Parents who are not able to establish a proper communication with each other often resulted in quarrel. If this situation is not resolved, an unhealthy family is going to be born. When the problem prolongs, they tend to act negatively as the unhealthy atmosphere in the house will affect their mentality, which will leads to psychology illness. If they were not exposed to proper treatment, they are going to abandon their babies due to depression they had in the family. One of the fine examples of miscommunication between parents which resulted to abandoning babies is the incident where the parents abandoned their baby just because their baby mouth was abnormal. If they could establish a good communication with each other, they will not do such action which does not reflect the sense of humanity.
In order to overcome this problem, sex education should be implemented in school. As a complement to teenager physical and mental changes which occur during puberty, sex education could be a remedy to this social menace by answering all their questions regarding sex. With proper guidance from a professional, they would be able to react to the changes positively. Thus, teenage pregnancy would be reduced and the same goes to the number of abandoned babies. With this information, teenagers will be able to handle this situation in a positive manner in case they were pregnant. They should realize the fact that being pregnant in the early adulthood is not the end of everything as there are many agencies which is established to help them. On the other hand, it will be the end of their life, when they abandon their babies as it is a serious offence which could lead to life-time prisoning.
On top of that, all couples should be given proper education and information before they were married. They must be taught on how to handle a marriage and how to handle stress in a house. As communication is the key to building a harmony and lively family, they must learn how to communicate. A counselor should be provided to every couple in our nation to carry out this divine duty. The counselor is going to provide them with proper information and knowledge whenever necessary. Thus, they will be able to settle their family issue in a proper way. Even if any unfortunate event happens, they would be able to overcome it in a proper manner and not with the foolish and cruel action, abandoning their babies.
In conclusion, the issue of abandoned babies has raised the concern of many parties and this shall not be tolerated anymore. If this problem prolongs, they are going to be a menace to our society and our nation. We must act now! Every child, who might change the world in the future, has the right to live once they were sent to Earth by our divine creator.
