Roughly 100 hairs are lost from head everyday. The average scalp contains 100000(one lakh) hairs .Each indivisual hair survives for an average of 54months, during which time it grows about half inch in a month. Usually in its 5th year, the hairballs out and is replaced within 6months by a new one. Genetic baldness is caused by the body’s failure to produce new hairs and not by excessive hairloss. Our body system to produce new hairs depends upon a particular hormone,i.e. ‘Testosterone’.This hormone helps to produce Nitric oxide.Hair follicles use Nitric oxide to maintain and promot new hair growth Causes of Hair Loss .
