Dying is just like taxes in the respect that it is going to happen to you and me. Over history, we realize it doesn’t matter who you are, you are going to face death. Famous people have no secret weapon against death.
They are just like you and I. They will die. We will die. Death is a part of life. However, many of us look forward to eternal life in Heaven. After we all pass from this world, I hope to meet each one of you in a better place called Heaven.

What Happened Today in History?

1644- 1st UFO sighting in America, by perplexed pilgrims in Boston

1778- Captain James Cook stumbles over Sandwich Islands (Hawaiian Islands)

1896- 1st demonstration of an X-ray machine in US (NYC)

1943 – US rations bread & metal because of World War II

1964- Beatles 1st appear on Billboard Chart (I Want to Hold Your Hand-#35)

1819-1892 –Anton Anderledy was elected the 23rd Swiss Superior General of the Society of Jesus

1865-1936 –Rudyard Kipling was a famous author; Kipling received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1907, Kipling wrote The Jungle Book, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and Gunga Din

1903-1952 –Curly Howard was a famous American actor and comedian who played Curly as one of the Three Stooges-Don’t you just want to poke somebody in the eye and make funny noises?

1884-1967 –Harry Antrim, actor (Ma & Pa Kettle), dies of heart attack at 83; he also played a part on The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres

1921-1967 –Reese “Goose” Tatum was a basketball player for the Harlem Globetrotters, he was a teammate of Satchel Paige and he is the original “crown prince” of the Harlem Globetrotters and is credited with inventing the hook shot

1905-1991 –Nita Krebs was an actor (Munchkin-Wizard of Oz), dies of heart attack at 85

1903-1995 –Adolph F J Butenandt was a German bio-chemist won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1939

1996 –Minnesota Fats [Rudolf Wanderone Jr] was a famous billiards hustler, dies at 82, some places say he died on January 15th; he is inducted into the Billiards Congress of America Hall of Fame
