We all strive to be as healthy as we are able to be but we do not always have enough time that we need to get in all of the exercise that is required to be so. This is the reason that health experts are motivating people to adopt the ten thousand step method. The ten thousand step approach is based on the idea that walking ten thousand steps every day can help you get healthy-that it helps cut down on the amount of time you need to spend at the gym. Walking is a fantastic and low impacting exercise. How often have you heard “if he’d simply taken a walk around the block now and then?”
Obviously walking ten thousand steps every day is not going to be easy. That’s a lot! The best part is that you almost certainly already take the majority of those steps each day already and don’t know it yet. What you’ll want to do is figure out how to include one or two more thousand steps to get to the goal. So how could you do that without feeling like you’re spending an entire day walking about?
There are a number of obvious things you can apply to take more steps. Use the stairs as opposed to the elevator–that’s quite basic. You could also decide to park a long way away from the doorway of the store or the mall. To further this plan, you could also remain parked in one spot and walk your shopping bags out to the car as you accumulate them-instead of carting them all over the shopping center as you run your errands. Choosing public transit is great because doing so includes a walk to and from a bus or train stop which is great for increasing your step count. Obviously, just choosing a short walk each day is also a good idea.
You could also boost the volume of steps you take by using some less than apparent methods. Order the grocery list differently. Most people will write out a market list based on the aisles in the shops. Organize your list in categories like dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Then go shopping as outlined by the order on the list. You could find yourself criss crossing the store a few times but it’s a wonderful way to increase your step count. Instead of having a mail box in your door or attached to your home, mount it on a post near to the curb. This means that the simple act of checking your mailbox can add a few dozen steps each day.
There are a lot of approaches to build your own step count. The more used to the idea of 10,000 steps you get the easier it will be for you to figure out how to meet your goal. The most effective thing with this idea is the fact that every single step you take throughout the day counts toward your goal whether they are on treadmills or to the bathroom and back. Try to have fun with your undertaking!
