Abbey of Echternach

This Benedectine monastery, which is located in the town of Echternach, was founded by St. Willibrord,the patron saint of the country. Monument of the Millennium
One unique tourist attraction located on the country’s capital is the Monument of the Millennium. This archeological site in Luxembourg City was designated on the millennial anniversary of the foundation of Luxembourg City by Siegfried in 1963.
The site was uncovered during the construction of a proposed lasting monument on Siegfried’s original Luxembourg Castle. The remains were restored and the construction of the said project was abandoned.
