I have been writing articles on various subjects for about one year now. One of the questions that I have asked myself is why I am doing it. Do I do it for the money? Do I do it to “put my two cents in”? Do I do it to help improve my writing? Do I do it help get my name out there in the online world? Well, the answer is simply yes. Yes, to all of the above questions.
Writing online has helped me in a few aspects. A few weeks into it and I did notice that a few things were changing. First and foremost I noticed my writing getting better. I have begun to feel more critical of trying to ensure that my articles were quality. With few subjects I have a lot to offer I feel. With many subjects I feel I have some contribution. My research ability has improved a little as well.
Do I do it for the money? Yes, why not try and get paid for something that you put effort in? There is nothing wrong with that. What remains to be seen is how much it will pay off in the future. Just like anything in life the more you do the more it may get noticed. If you are one that hopes to make money this way the one thing you have to do is to keep going. Make a personal goal and do what you can to achieve it. It can be as simple as writing one article a day or week. Whatever the goal is feel compelled to achieve it.
Do I do it to put my two cents in? If I feel strongly enough about something I will definitely speak up about it. It is as simple as that. I may not write about it via online blogs or video’s but, I try to see what I can do to make my voice heard.
Do I do it to get my name out there? Yes, I will admit that is a motivating factor. I have many things in the online world that I do hope people will see and enjoy. The more you do then it can be a fair assumption that your name will be out there more and more. If they don’t like what I did then that is fine. It doesn’t bother me. I also do my best to try and improve on what I do. Hopefully we all try and take the time to improve ourselves. Not everyone liked Star Wars. Not to mention the fact that we would all be very naïve to think everyone liked what we did all the time.
I am sure I am not alone in my reasons. The only person that knows the reasons of course is the person themselves. We all have a creative aspect that we need to explore. Why not do it?
