Survive a Heart Attack Alone

Since many people are alone when they suffer an heart attack, how can a person who is alone and without help, survive it?

A person has about ten seconds from the time that they recognize the effects of the irregular heart beat or lack of it, until their fainting or loss of consciousness.

Here now are some steps that may save your life. First, as difficult as it may seem, do not panic. Second, Start coughing, repeatedly and vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before every successive cough. Try a deep breath followed by a cough every two to three seconds. Third, dial 911 or get immediate help when you possibly can. Continue this process until it arrives or you feel normal again.

How does this process work? According to the Journal of General Hospital of Rochester’s article, the deep breaths allow for air to come in the lungs and the coughing circulates by it’s squeezing of the heart. Which allows for the release of air into the body. This also helps the heart to regain it’s normal rhythm.

Now please pass this useful information on freely to any and all that you know. “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23. If you do not have a personal relationship with God, then why not follow the early church model of Acts 2:38?
