Chris Goeppner is the Lead Pastor of Riverbank Church in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont near Hanover, NH. In a recent video interview by Derek Tsakiris of 910 Web Traffic, he describes his use of social media marketing. By using Facebook, Twitter and web video marketing, the church has been able to touch a crowd that most churches don’t reach. This type of marketing outreach is somewhat uncharacteristic for a church, but seems to work well. In fact, Goeppner attributes approximately 25% of the church’s following to social media marketing.
The church also has a vibrant children’s program called Riverbank Kids. Riverbank Kids is a safe, clean and caring environment for children up to age 10. There are 3 specific areas prepared for children: ages 0-2, 3-5 and 6-10 years. This ministry is fully staffed with trained and screened volunteers.
One other attraction to churchgoers and the non-churched alike is the live band which rips up the Lebanon Opera House stage each service. Anywhere from 3 to 8 musicians sing and play instruments accompanied by stage lights and multimedia accents. There are not too many other churches in the Upper Valley that have a live band, so this is a big attraction to the community.
