Choosing Tile For Your Bathroom

Ceramic Tiles – Ceramic tiles are the most commonly used tiles for the bathroom. These tiles usually have a glossier look and a flat surface, this makes the tile easy to clean. Ceramic tiles are also usually the most affordable option for example an average 12 inch by 12 inch ceramic tile from a major home improvement store usually costs around is 99 cents each

Porcelain Tiles – Porcelain tiles are also used for bathrooms and will give you the look of real stone tiles for much less. These tiles have more texture than the ceramic tiles and have a matte finish instead of the glossy finish of ceramic. This is a nice way to get the high end spa look in your bathroom for not much money. The average porcelain 12 inch by 12 inch tile from a major home improvement store will probably cost you around $2.50 each.

Other Tiles – Glass, metal and real stone tiles are also available but these are even more expensive than the porcelain and ceramic so if you are on a budget I would not recommend considering these as options for your bathroom. You may also have to renforce your bathroom floor because the weight of some of these tiles could crack the ceiling below.
