Sound of Music – Von Trapp Family Reunites in Oprah Winfrey Show

Last weekend Oprah Winfrey did it again; she brought back the “Sound of Music” cast to reunited on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Memories of the good old days bounced back and forth during this precious interview which was broadcasted for the First time in October 2010. Christopher Plummer, Julie Andrews, Charmian Carr and Angela Cartwrighthad some great anecdotes to share with the Oprah live audience.

The year 1965 brought one of the wonders of the World to birth, the musical film by Robert Wise “The Sound of Music” with Julie Andrews in the lead rol hit the American cinemas. The movie was an immediate success and has been for nearly 45 years.

Rodgers and Hammerstein later in the late fifties translated this incredible hit movie into one of the most visited Broadway musicals ever. The story was perfect to fit on one stage and with its elaborated decors it is a pleasure for people from the world over to watch and enjoy the show. The show has been translated in more than 150 languages.

The Von Trapp family has really existed in the early 40’s they moved from Austria to the United States. The Trapp’s were a singing family and they had a huge crowd of fans following both in Europe as also in the United States. They called themselves both the Trapp Family Singers as also the Von Trapp Family Choir.
