Stargate SG-1: Proving Ground is a show I really enjoy watching, even though it doesn’t really have all of the essentials that I like for sixty minutes of watching. It’s an Earth-bound episode, probably for cost purposes, that centers around 4 trainees who want to be assigned to Cheyenne Mountain. They are being put through their paces by Jack with help from the rest of his SG-1 team.
As a group, I love the recruits, especially Satterfield, who was played by the wonderful Grace Park. Park went on to star in the revamped Battlestar Galactica and now stars in the new version of Hawaii 5-0. I love Satterfield, who has a crush on Daniel and isn’t afraid to show it. It makes for some really nice sweetness.
It also brings back Hailey from the Prodigy episode and then adds two men, Elliot and Grogan.
A highlight for me is when Jack phones Daniel to update him on the scenario. It’s really a fun moment, especially Jack’s facial expression. I don’t want to spoil it; just watch for it, and for what happens later to Jack as a result of his own version of fun.
Proving Ground is a lot of fun and I watch it frequently.
