One of the most fun episodes to watch of Stargate SG-1 is 1969. There are so many terrific moments in this episode during which the team ends up back in time after a Stargate glitch.
One of the best bits of Stargate SG-1: 1969 is right at the beginning when they realize they are still in Cheyenne Mountain, but back when it was testing rockets. Their anxiety as a countdown plays out is great.
The scene when Jack is interrogated and he gives his named as James T. Kirk is really terrific. That’s all thanks to star Richard Dean Anderson who can pull off that kind of deadpan humor with ease.
Other fun bits include the conversation between Jack and Daniel over the corvette and Daniel’s birth, seeing SG-1 in colorful hippie attire, the road trip montage, Jack and Teal’c with the big telescope, and the Hammond connection.
1969 has some neat twists, and I don’t want to spoil it for new viewers. I love the ending, which sometimes confuses people. You have to listen carefully and watch who is being talked to.
For me, this episode is always fun to watch. I love the creativity with the writing and all of the ins and outs of the twists.
