           The game was released last September 24, 2010 in Europe, North America on September 28, 2010 and September 29, 2010 in Australia. It is the last game in the series to be made by Neversoft and RedOctane prior to closures and dissolution by their parent publisher and company Activision, in part as a result of weak sales in the music game market from 2009. Additional development for the Nintendo Wii version with some Nintendo DS functionality was provided by Vicarious Visions who will be taking over for future Guitar Hero design and development.
