How to Make a Pot Roast for the Holidays

Ingredients and items needed:

3 pounds of boneless beef roast (shoulder)

2 tablespoons of olive oil (or canola oil)

1 pound of red potatoes

1 pouch of baby carrots

½ pound of diced tomatoes

A pinch of salt

A pinch of pepper

A cooking brush


Crock pot

The following recipe takes fifteen minutes to prepare but the cooking time is quite extensive, however that is the wonders of the crock pot, you can do other errands while waiting, and it definitely makes a good entrée for your holiday dinner parties and this recipe makes for about six servings

The first thing to do is to brush the boneless shoulder roast with the olive oil (or Canola if you prefer) on each side and add a pinch of salt and pepper as well all over the roast

Then take the skillet and heat it over medium heat for 6 minutes and brown the roast on both sides

In the crock pot add the cut potatoes, tomatoes and carrots

Now cook on low for about 6 to 8 hours and you can run errands, go shopping, clean the house or do it overnight so that you get good night’s sleep

Then it will be ready to be served and it goes great with multigrain bread and a dry red wine.
