Ne-Yo has been a mainstay on the music scene for the past 5 years after writing Mario’s hit song Let Me Love You amongst others before finally getting to release his own music performed by him. Ne-Yo has a great voice and songwriting abilities that allow him to produce hit songs for the pop charts and fill the rest of his albums with a more modern take on classic R&B. For this list I included songs off of each of his albums to fully represent his catalog and ended up with 19 total that I thought were Ne-Yo’s best songs, agree or disagree but you won’t find a bad song on the list.
Stay– This was the first song that I heard from Ne-Yo and it got a lot of replay for a while, the hook is great.
So Sick– This was his big single off of In My Own Words, good break up song.
Time– Nice piano laced track from Ne-Yo, beautiful song.
Sign Me Up- Pretty cool instrumental but Ne-Yo’s vocals make this song.
It Just Ain’t Right- It Just Ain’t Right is about still thinking about your ex all of the time even long after you both have moved on to other people.
Get Down Like That– Get Down Like That is probably my favorite song off of his first album.
Go On Girl– Dealing with being in love with a girl who doesn’t love you back and moving on.
Say It– Girl why don’t you tell me what you want from me? Say It.
Leaving Tonight– Ne-Yo teams up with Jennifer Hudson for a good duet.
Because of You– You have become my addiction, I’m so strung out on you I can barely move but I like it.
Nobody– Nobody is off of Year of the Gentleman and is Ne-Yo’s homage to Michael Jackson.
Closer– Closer will get stuck in your head for days and it won’t get on your nerves.
Stop This World– Great epic sound to Stop This World.
Miss Independent– Admiring a girl that does her own thing and doesn’t need him.
