How Do I Know If I Have a Virus on My Computer?

There are a few ways to notice you have a virus. Any computer “geek” would easily know if your computer has a virus or not by only using it for a few minutes. Some signs that your computer may contain a virus is when your computer is running slow. When you click an Icon to open a folder and it takes a minute or two for it to open. That would be the first sign your computer has a virus. Another simple sign that would possibly mean you have a virus on your computer is if you have a fast internet and you open a browser and it takes forever to just get to your homepage.

Also other well known sings your computer is infected is when you see popups coming up without you clicking anything. There are a few ways you can treat your infected computer but here is the one I like most, and according to my opinion works the best. The first step you want to take is install an antivirus on your computer (if you don’t already have one). If you don’t know where to get one, there is a website with a free antivirusthat works good. Download it and install and activate it with the activation key they send to your email after you register on the website. Then you must restart your computer. After you have done all that, open up the program and do a full system scan deleting all the infected files or storing them in the virus chest for quarantine. When the scan is complete try using your system and see if there are improvements. Have thepopups stopped appearing? Do folders open faster. What you will probably have to do is scan the system again and again until the scanner shows no more infected files.

If the virus is very strong and you can’t seem to get rid of the virus by using the method above you may want to do a system restore. Note that your current files that were put on your computer after the system restore point was set, will be lost. If, after doing the system restore you have no luck in getting rid of the infection you will probably want to call an expert that has expensive software that will get rid of the problem without losing any of your files. If you don’t know which expert to call I can recommend one to you. If you live in US in California in the Sacramento county there is a really good and honest expert who is a very good friend of mine who has fixed hundreds of computers before. Here is a link to his website. If none of the above methods work, check this website out and give this guy a call. His name is Mike.
