THE LORD’S PRAYER
The only eternal God is our Father, YAHWEH (Jehovah). Not the Buddhist Gautama; not the Hindu Brahman, not the Islamic Allah; not the Sikh Vahiguru; not Maitreya; not Confucius; not anybody else. YAHWEH of the Old Testament is incarnate in the body of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the fullness of God bodily. He is the only truly hallowed, holy, sacred, reverent, and pure God in the universe. His name is Jesus Christ. Every prayer you pray should acknowledge that fundamental truth.
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
This is how the Lord’s prayer would of been written in Aramaic and Greek, two the most common and used languages during the time of Jesus stay on earth.
