– Current creative plans call for Melina to turn heel and feud with Divas Champion Natalya. It’s expected to be a slow turn. The idea was first conceived a few weeks ago and it said that Melina garnered heat because she was negative about going bad. Meanwhile, a renewed on-screen relationship with John Morrison which was recently teased on Monday Night RAW is considered a dead idea. Of course, things can and always do change within WWE so take this for what it’s worth.
– Former WWE Superstar John Cena, who serves as an Ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, granted his 200th wish on The Talk television program this morning, which airs this afternoon (Friday) on CBS at 2:00 p.m. Cena surprised 9-year-old Shayan of Agoura Hills, California, on the program and invited him to attend an upcoming Monday Night RAW taping in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Cena reached the 200th wish milestone in just six years, joining NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and TNA Wrestling performer Hulk Hogan as celebrity wish granters who have fulfilled 200 wishes.
— Rey Mysterio has largely recovered from a recent ear infection, but is dealing with another ailment involving his shoulder.
The multi-time champion paid a visit to Dr. James Andrews last week, who diagnosed the injury as a tear. However, Andrews didn’t feel that surgery was required. Mysterio was instead told to rehabilitate and take several weeks off. He still worked last weekend’s live events, as well as Tuesday’s SmackDown taping, but was protected via tag matches.
Original plans for his match with Alberto Del Rio at TLC called for it to be a Tables Match, but has since been changed to a non-stipulated bout due to the injury.
