India Crush New Zealand, Sweep Series 5-0

Gautam Gambhir is the happiest person

                               India’s stand-in skipper Gautam Gambhir attributed the team’s 5-0 sweep in the ODI series against New Zealand to “overall effort” after the hosts won the final match by eight wickets.The rampant India’s 5-0 ODI series sweep was set up by the bowlers. Skittled out for 103, the Kiwis were down for the count.

                               The left-handed Gambhir was adjudged Player-of-the-Series for 329 runs – including two centuries – at 109.66 in the series with Highest run is 138 not out.

                              New Zealand were at the receiving end of another humiliation as a hapless batting performance led to their lowest score against India and sealed a 0-5 whitewash.The team captain Daniel Vettori on Friday admitted that India were the superior team in the ODI series and his side lacked consistency to challenge a strong and balanced opposition. For New zealand it is Eleven losses, and still very much counting.

                         It’s their second-lowest in India – they’d 97 runs against Australia in Faridabad in 2003.
