1. Exfoliate

By regularly exfoliating, you remove the outer layer of rough, dead skin to reveal the newer skin underneath.
Pores are unclogged, keeping skin clean and reducing breakouts of acne. You should exfoliate after cleansing your skin and moisturise afterwards as exfoliating can dry out the skin.

2. Moisturise

Dry skin can lead to the development of wrinkles and ageing. Moisturising regularly prevents skin from drying out and improves skin texture, tone and can even cover up imperfections.
Choose a moisturiser that suits you.
For example, if you suffer from dry skin, select and oil-based moisturiser that will keep your skin moist. If you have oily-skin, choose an oil-free, water-based moisturiser that won’t clog your pores.

3. Drink plenty of water

Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day to help with weight regulation, preventing muscle strains, keeping memory sharp and anti-ageing.

4. Quit smoking

It has often been said that smoking is the number one reason for premature ageing. Regular smokers can suffer from poor complexion, wrinkly or leathery skin, dull and lifeless hair and even hair loss.
Quit smoking to get rid of all the harmful toxins pouring into your body.

5. Exercise

Exercise is vital to a healthier and more beautiful lifestyle. Combined with a sensible diet, exercise will help weight loss and improve your appearance. Exercise is also proven to help with anti-ageing as it increases energy levels, flexibility and reduces stress.

6. Eat Fruit and Vegetables

Citrus fruits are high in vitamin C which is essential in any skincare regime as it is required for the production of collagen which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also reduces acne, blemishes and improves skin texture.

7. Sleep well

Lack of sleep causes circles around your eyes and wrinkles. Getting a decent night’s sleep (7-8 hours) will reduce stress and leave you feeling energetic and looking good.

8. Remove make up

If you wear makeup during the day, you must remove it before you go to sleep. If you leave makeup on overnight it will prevent your skin from breathing and can result in irritation and breakouts.
Use a facial cleanser and eye makeup remover to get the job done; baby wipes are insufficient as they will not fully remove makeup.

9. Relax

Stress makes your perspiration more acidic which will contribute to acne breakouts and skin blemishes. It can also leave you looking tired and can lead to premature ageing.
Relax by doing something you enjoy every day.

10. Choose the right shampoo

Make sure you choose a shampoo to suit your hair type, i.e. normal, oily, curly or coloured hair.

Shampoo not only cleans, but also treats your hair according to what you need so if necessary ask your hairdresser what type of hair you have.
