Thousands of people currently have a childhood memory as their Facebook profile picture in the fight against child abuse. A similar number of morons have decided this is outrageous. I didn’t start the trend, but I’ve taken part in it, because I understand a way in which it could lead to more donations to charities that help children.
It’s December 4th, 21 days before Christmas and 27 days before our tax year end. This is when people make their charitable donations. If you work in an office, this is the time of year those forms go around and you decide which charity (if any) you want to donate to. If you make your donations another way, this is typically the time of year to do it. Which to donate to? Well, let the latest Facebook phenomenon point you in the right direction.
How much do you really think about abused children? Unless you are a child or have children, probably not much at all. Why should you? You’ve got your own problems, like how to get that tax break you’re going to need in April. But wait! Facebook just reminded you what it was like to be a kid.
Feeling nostalgic along with thoughts of abused children, all around donation time…how could this possibly help the charities that help children?
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH I GET IT!!!!!
If you need something to be outraged about, maybe it’s not what your friends profile pictures are.
