Having oily skin is not a lifestyle choice, like some people claim. Oily skin is completely caused by genetics, even though it can get worse if you eat the wrong things. Large pores are more common on oily skin, but people who suffer from both often think that one of these skin problems would be enough. However, there are simple ways you can care for oily skin and large pores, to make the skin less oily and to make the pores appear smaller.
Here is how to do it:
1.Cleanse your face twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, with a cleanser for oily skin.
2.Try using an exfoliating pad every once in a while, at least every other day, to exfoliate the skin. Simply put some of your cleanser on the exfoliating pad and scrub.
3.Do not touch your face too much. Bacteria and grease can easily move from your fingers to your skin if you are not careful, and this could cause a lot of problems.
4.Some people who have oily skin think they do not need to moisturize, but this is not try. Not moisturizing will only cause the skin to produce some moisturizer itself, and will make the skin even oilier. So moisturize twice a day, just make sure the moisturizer you choose is suitable for oily skin.
5.Use a face mask once a week, but make sure the face mask you choose is suitable for oily skin. Most clay masks as well as lavender masks work well for oily skin.
6.Many people with oily skin, as well as acne, feel that using benzoyl peroxide improves their skin. Always read the instructions on any benzoyl peroxide product carefully, though, since benzoyl peroxide is a very strong substance!
