Yoga and meditation leads to tremendous benefits when performed in tandem. Yoga mainly works on the external parts for an individual and meditation helps in cleaning up the internal pathways. Both are Hinduism’s unique gift to the world. They strengthen your mind and body providing mental peace and physical power help you to fight diseases, and live longer and healthier. Instructions on Yoga

The best time to practice yoga is in the morning before breakfast. Upon waking, take a shower if you wish and commence the day with your yoga practices. The second most favorable time is early evening, around sunset.

Yoga positions (Asanas) could be practiced at any time of day except within 2-3 hours of having eaten. You can do postures when the body feels tense, stiff, tired or hyped up. Make sure that you don’t perform too many over stimulating postures just before going to bed. It’s best to practice Asanas first in your yoga routine, followed by breathing (Pranayama) and then meditation.

Pranayamacould be practiced at any time of the day except within 2-3 hours after meals. It could be done when tired or tensed or when there is no space in the room for postures. Pranayama is best practiced straight after asanas and it is necessary for successful meditation.
