Child like faith!
One day a teenage boy named Joey was walking through the woods, taking a daily stroll. While walking, Joey hears a voice of a young child far off by the river bank. In concern, Joey began walking toward the voice. The closer Joey got to the child, the more he heard, but couldn’t make out what the child was saying. Joey reaches the river bank, and sees a little boy that he recognizes from his neighborhood, saying the alphebet. Joey approaches the young boy and says, “what are you doing kid?”. The young boy says, “I’m praying”. With a very confused and clueless look on his face, Joey say, “praying? How are you praying and you are only saying the alphebet?”. The young child say, “I know I’m saying the alphabet, but I don’t know how to pronounce all the words I want to say, so I’m saying the alphebet, God understands what I am trying to say!”. Given a smile to his face, Joey kneeled down with the little boy until he finished his prayer and walked him home. On the way to the litte boy’s house Joey decided to ask, “so kid, what was you praying for?”. The boy said, “well I iwas playing with my kite and It slipped out of my hand, so I chased it. I chased it so far, that I didn’t realize how far I was from home, so I started walking, and before I knew it, I was in the woods. I didn’t know how to get home so I start praying, because that’s what my Daddy said to do when I need God to show me the right way to go”. Being totally overwhelmed by the childs belief, Joey couldn’t do nothing but smile in happiness, and says, “well kid, here’s your house don’t walk away from it again, ok”, he reached down and gave the boy a high five. The boy jumps and give a high five back and says, “OK!” while running to the door.
Matthew 18: v1-5The disciples ask Jesus who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus replies (after calling a child to come and stand next to Him) in verse 3:and said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn around and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven! verse 4: Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Becoming free of mind and free of worries and full of pure faith, is what children have. These are the same traits we as adults once had, but lost and forgotten them over the time of growth, our eyes caught grasp of the world’s evil sins.
Matthew 18: v6 Christ explains how valuable children are. Verse 6: “but if anyone causes these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung round his neck and to be drowned in the open sea.”
Verses 7-9: Jesus gives a sollution if your drawn into sin. Versre 9:And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away It is better for you to enter into life with one eye than to have two eyeand be thrown into fiery hell.
Having the faith as a young child is more solid than anything that’s handmade. Submit your body and soul to Christ
and grow that faith, you once had as a child.
