I am a huge fan of Excel, not only for work related purposes but also for using at home. I use Excel for a lot of things, which seems to surprise some of my friends. But why not? Excel is easy to use and can be used in a lot of different ways, which makes it perfect for domestic use as well.
Here are some of the best ways to use Excel in your personal life at home, according to me:
Creating a household budget.
Tracking your incomes and expenses for a period of time.
Making a cash flow sheet.
Making “to do”-lists, for each day, each week, each month and so on.
Make a list of household chores, and divide them according to family member.
Making shopping lists, both for groceries, and for other items.
Making a clothing budget.
Making a clothing list, for a capsule wardrobe.
Keeping track of your online earnings, divided by different methods, so you can see where you are earning the most, and the least.
The great thing about doing all this in Excel, as opposed to anywhere else, is that you can easily duplicate any sheet you need to use again, maybe the next month or day. If you are not an Excel-wiz there are also a lot of ready templates you can download for free online, so that you do not need to design the templates yourself.
Using Excel for household purposes really is a great way to get more organized with very little effort, so I highly recommend it to everyone!
