How to Make Chocolate Pecan Bars Recipe.

For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:  one and 1/2 cups of flour, one and 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup corn starch, 3/4 cup butter, margarine or your favorite spread, one and 1/4 cups corn syrup, 4 eggs, 1/4 teaspoon salt, one and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, one and 1/2 chopped pecans, one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Begin by greasing a 9 x 13 inch cake pan.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Start by making the crust.  Mix one and 1/2 cups of flour, 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup corn starch in a large bowl.  Cut in the 3/4 cup spread until the mix becomes crumbly.  Press the mixture into the 9 x 13 inch cake pan.

Bake the crust until the edges start to turn brown, approximately 15 minutes.

Place 4 eggs in a medium sized bowl and beat.

In a large bowl, combine one and 1/4 cups corn syrup, one and 1/4 cups sugar, the beaten eggs, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and one and 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla.  Blend ingredients well, then add one and 1/2 cups of pecans and one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.  Use mixture to cover crust. 

Place pan back in oven approximately 35 minutes.  Note: The inside filling of the treat should be firm around the edges.  Allow the bars to cool before serving.
