Writing easy-to-read articles on the Internet is not an easy task. The fact of the matter is that the Internet presents a whole new set of challenges for the writer. Not only does the writer have to be concerned with the basics of the writing craft, such as grammar and spelling, the conscientious Internet writer needs to be aware of formatting, how the article will look on a web page, and even how search engines will view the page. In short, there are whole hosts of areas that the writer needs to take into account in order to write easy-to-read articles on the Internet.

Here are some areas you need to consider in order to write easy-to-read articles on the Internet:

* Outline before you write. Organizing your thoughts before you begin banging away on the keyboard is almost guaranteed to make your articles more easy-to-read on the Internet. It helps you to keep a consistent flow to your article, and helps it make more sense overall.

* Grammar and spelling. While the basic rules of the language aren’t the only thing you need to know in order to write easy-to-read articles on the Internet, you still need to start with them. Articles with poor grammar or incorrect spelling are difficult to read and will turn away readers.

* Formatting. There is no one correct way to format articles in your writing to make them easy-to-read on the Internet. This is because, depending on where you are publishing your articles, you may have different options available. If you’re publishing at Helium, for example, you will need to make sure to leave an extra space between paragraphs and use an asterisk for a bullet point. At other web sites, you may be able to use HTML formatting.

* Search Engine Optimization. SEO is an important part of writing on the Internet. Unfortunately, SEO can make an article more difficult to read on the Internet. To make your articles easier to read, you should consider writing your article first without SEO in mind, and then go back later on and modify things here and there to get your keyword count to where you want it to be.
