Breakfast Diets: 2 Delectable Yogurt Parfaits

Dieting does not have to take excessive time or money. However, it should include breakfast to give the body enough nutrition to get throught daily activities.

Winter Fruit: Pears for Pleasure Parfait:

Ingredients to Make 2 cups:

  • 1 teaspoon of protein powder
  • 1/4 cup frozen pears 
  • 1 cup pureed frozen bananas
  • 2 Tablespoons of nuts (almond or walnuts)
  • 2 tall glasses 
  • 6 oz plain low-fat yogurt

Preparation:

  1. Pour 1 cup of pureed frozen bananas into a tall glass.
  2. Alternate in layers 6 oz. of plain low-fat yogurt and 1/4 cup of frozen pears.
  3. Keep adding layers until the glass is full.
  4. Top with nuts (almonds or walnuts) and 1 teaspoon of protein powder.

 Winter Fruit: Cranberry and Grape Parfait

Ingredients to Make 2 Cups:

  • 1/2 cup cranberries 
  • 1/2 cup grapes
  • 1 cup of raisins
  • 1 teaspoon of protein powder
  • 2 medium glasses
  • 6 oz. of plain low-fat yogurt

Preparation:

  1. Pour 1 cup of plain low-fat yogurt in a medium glass.
  2. Alternate 1/2 cup cranberries with 1/2 grapes with plain low-fat yogurt until glass is filled.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of raisins to each glass.
  4. Top with 1 teaspoon of protein powder.

 Each of these parfaits are diet-friendly since each consists of high amounts of fruits, nuts, and yogurts. You can enjoy for breakfast or a late-afternoon snack option.
