Lush – Dream Cream

*WHAT IT DOES*

Lush Dream Cream is hand and body lotion which has every essential oil that could help your skin become soft. It conditions the skin making it feel soft and smooth, especially on areas which are dry and flaky. You can use it on your hands which get dry easily with everyday duties (for example washing the dishes). This cream can also be used all over the body and it is great for problem areas like elbows and knees, plus it makes your legs feel moisturised. This cream will help irritated and blotchy skin reducing any redness within the skin.

*PACKAGING*

The cream comes in a black plastic container with white writing on it and the Lush logo. It has a screw lid which keeps the cream fresh. At the top the ingredients are noted for your attention. As the tub is plastic it is waterproof and as long as you don’t totally soak the labels they are not destroyed. On the side there is a circular label with a picture of who made the product along with the date it was made and the expiry date.

It costs 9.25 for 240g tub which I think is too large of a quantity as I never have it all used within the expiry date. I don’t use it every day as it leaves my skin sticky and the only time I feel comfortable putting it on is last thing at night. Once the product has expired it doesn’t smell as fresh and I usually throw it out which I feel is a waste as it isn’t cheap to buy.

*INGREDIENTS*

Oat Milk (Avrna sativa), Rose Water (Rosa centifolia), Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Thriethanolamine, Tincture of Benzoin (Styrax benzoin), Rose Absolute (Rosa centifolial, Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), Lavender Oil (Lavandula hybrida), Cetearyl Alchol

(Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben) all these occur naturally in essential oils.

As I have said before I like the way that Lush ingredients are put in simpler terms so you can easily know what is in the product. I am not fussed that they have added perfume and it hasn’t really improved the smell very much. I like the way that most ingredients are natural.

*PRODUCT*

The product is cream in colour and it’s thick in consistency. It is very easily rubbed onto your hands and can be spread out over a large surface area. This means that you only nee to use a small amount at any time. As soon as you open the container you can smell the lotion. To me has a minty smell with a hint of tea tree oil. Also you can smell the chamomile oil. It is a unique smell different from other body lotions I have used.

To use dip your fingers tips into the tub and apply to any part of the body taking particular attention to dry areas and rub on in a circular motion. I would advise you to use small amounts as it can make your skin feel greasy. It doesn’t really soak into your skin quickly, I think it more wears off in time.

*MY EXPERIENCE*

This body lotion leaves my skin smooth and tingly. As it has tea tree oil in it, this helps with spots and beamishes. It helps me combat dry patches on my knees and elbows leaving my skin feeling moisturised. My advice is to use small quantities as it makes your skin greasy and doesn’t soak into your skin easily. It takes too long to soak in which I find annoying. I wouldn’t advise you to use it first thing in the morning and then put your clothes on, as it will mean that they will stick to your skin making you feel uncomfortable. I feel that it is rubbed off your skin instead of soaking in. As it takes time and patience to absorb I wouldn’t recommend it for daily use unless you have time to spare. Its moisturising capabilities are great and it could help problem and dry skin without irritating it. I have sensitive skin and it has never reacted badly to this product.

Another thing that I don’t like is once I have applied my body lotion my hands feel slimy and sticky which is hard to wash off, sometimes I have to wash my hands two or three times. I like the smell as it is fresh and different but after a period of time the smell doesn’t seem as fresh. As I don’t use the whole tub at once I feel it has been a waste for me to buy this product. I would like Lush to produce tubs which are half the size and amount. This way my product would be fresh when I used it and I wouldn’t have to throw any out.

Overall the product is great for your skin and would recommend it to someone who has dry and flaky skin. It is gentle on sensitive skin leaving its soft, which is a plus but it will take some time to apply and soak in.
